My name is Danisha Nicole Bailey, and I am the founder of Waiting in Heels. A Brooklyn native with Caribbean roots, I am also a professionally trained dancer, a blogger, a purpose coach, and an educator. Women of faith rely on me for the guidance they need to dump the baggage of past relationships and turn their “waiting” season into one of healing, self-exploration and purpose, so they can be complete and whole when they meet their soulmate. I love using my faith and expertise not only to lead others to Christ, but to also help women of faith live bigger, bolder & fully transformed lives!
Waiting in Heels came into being five years ago, when I found myself in the middle of an identity crisis. Instead of knowing and pursuing God’s purpose for my life, I had come to the realization that I had been pursuing a guaranteed job with guaranteed benefits and a guaranteed future. Even though I was good at what I was doing, it didn’t fulfill me, so I turned to God and said, “I need your help. I’m not sure of my purpose, and I’m in a low place.” Once I surrendered, God immediately stepped in and led me into a place of healing, so I could be free from past wounds and disappointments. It was in that place that I also had to face the fact that where I was going was not where God needed me to be. So, I made the decision to take a leap of faith and leave a sure career for something I wasn’t 100% sure about.
I spent most of 2015 in prayer and fasting, and that’s when God told me to “write it and tell it.” My journal entries literally became the stepping stone to launching my blog brand, Waiting in Heels. As a single woman, it became my mission to help other single women of faith navigate their waiting season. I wanted to create a safe space where I could teach single women how to wait God’s way, as they moved from uncertainty to clarity of purpose during their season of singleness.
My blog officially launched in 2016, along with my official apparel line—a way for women of faith to rock their confidence, power and beauty in custom-made t-shirts—and in 2018 I started Daughters of Wisdom as a platform for married and/or experienced women to share their wisdom with singles. I have grown tremendously over the years and have recently became a certified life coach where I teach my signature seven step UNSTUCK to Purpose™ framework to women of faith who desire more out of life and want to get clear about their purpose.
The Waiting in Heels community has grown over the years, and it is my prayer that God will continue to use this platform to inspire and equip women to live victorious and fulfilling purpose-driven lives.
